Agia Napa Municipality has prepared a programme of activities for its winter visitors that starts on Friday 10 January, and finishes at the end of March 2025
The programme of various activities that the Agia Napa Municipality has prepared for its winter visitors, and which starts on Friday 10 January and finishes at the end of March, aims to show its long term visitors the local traditions and cultural customs of the island.
The first event is on Friday, 10 January, during which, Mrs Eleni Zartila will exhibit loom weaving (10.00 – 12.00).
On the following Friday, 17 January, crafting of the traditional reed basket – Paneria is going to take place and on the Friday after,
24 January, there is an educational seminar on how to grow pumpkins, presented by Mrs. Chrystalla Pitsilli, where our visitors are invited to paint!

On the Friday after that, 7 February, our guests will be shown by Mrs Loukia Savva, how to make halloumi (traditional cheese) and trahana soup (also traditional).
At the special school of Apostolos Pavlos, on Friday 14 February, one will learn how to weave a special kind of a chair / stool
On 21 February, Mrs Maria Nikola will teach our guests how to make the traditional sugared sweets of Cyprus.
Mrs Maria Kermanou will teach our guests how to make pottery pots on Friday 28 February.
Mrs Stavroulla Marinou will teach how to weave baskets on 14 March, and Mr Christakis Askotis on 21 March on how to make pottery.
The local ladies will prepare local traditional Cyprus food and will host all the guests, on Friday, 28 March, on the last of the programme.
During this period, there will also be two excursions:
– The first, on 31 January, to the Botanical Garden in the Municipal District of Avgorou, and
– The second one, on 7 March, to the Melissa Park, in the Municipal District of Achna.
